Overview

 

The Project Manager IT is accountable for the successful end-to-end delivery of strategic projects, programs, and portfolios. The job leads projects, programs, portfolios or leads an Agile ART or several agile teams, through the systems development life cycle from planning through hyper care, working in close partnership with IT and business leaders including executive sponsors. The work also includes leading, collaboration, coaching team members and influencing others outside their direct team to ensure the success of initiative

Specialized Skills and Technologies

 

  • Experience in managing large and complex technical projects
  • Understanding of fundamentals of IT Architecture & Systems to deliver solutions is a must
  • Experience in integrating multiple systems (logic and data) across the enterprise is required
  • Functional knowledge and experience in implementing large and complex solutions either related to software, data or Infrastructure projects is required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools is required
  • Ability to create and follow work and data flow charts is required
  • Need to understand Software Development Life Cycle and various delivery methodologies like Waterfall and Agile
Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members
  • Create and maintain project budgets
  • Build strong project teams
  • Manage and organize project teams to support project needs
  • Manage projects to successfully meet business requirements and outcomes
  • Plan and run test plans
  • Create work break down structures to support project delivery and track plan
  • Use level of efforts to assist in developing project budgets
  • Manage project progress and create effective status reports
  • Manage all required project documentation per SGWS PMO standards
  • Define, drive test metrics and monitor testing to ensure testing is completed per project schedule
  • Define resource plan and manage throughout project life cycle
  • Time Management:
    • Define activity
    • Sequence activity
    • Estimate the duration of activity
    • Develop a schedule
    • Maintain a schedule
Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Master’s Degree
  • Project Management (PMI) or Agile Certification
Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years leading system development or relevant IT work experience
  • Size of project is $500K or less/10 people or less

  • Experience developing new ideas and proposing innovative solutions to problems
  • Demonstrates ability to use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in business/product area
  • Demonstrates ability to read situations and modify behavior to build quality and diverse relationships to drive outcomes
  • Demonstrates ability to provide candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manner
  • Proven record of keeping leadership actively informed and cascading decisions made quickly
  • Experience supporting the risk assessment through evaluation of the overall project and provide recommendations for project effectiveness
