*Nursing Assistant Job Description*

*Job Summary*
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, urgent care facilities, and home community care environments. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor patient health, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for those in your care.

*Duties*
* Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
* Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
* Provide basic life support when necessary and respond to emergencies promptly.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization in patient areas while adhering to aseptic techniques.
* Assist with the use of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) as needed.
* Support hospice care initiatives by providing compassionate end-of-life care.
* Document patient information accurately using electronic health records systems such as Cerner.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Engage with children and families in pediatric settings when required.
* Work effectively in a Level I Trauma Center or urgent care environment as needed.

*Qualifications*
* Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience is preferred.
* Experience in medical office settings or home community care is a plus.
* Familiarity with basic life support techniques and DME usage is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of hospice care practices is beneficial.
* Prior experience working with children or in pediatric healthcare settings is an asset.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or urgent care facilities.
* Strong communication skills and empathy towards patients are essential for success in this role.

*Setting: Hospital*

*Shift: 8 hour nights, or evenings available - please state preference*

*MUST be certified in NY State*
