Position Summary/Description:

Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director for Analytics and Sales Strategy, the Director of Digital Marketing is responsible for building and executing digital communications within the Department of Athletics with the goal of revenue generation through ticket sales and the positive promotion of our teams and department.

This role will:

  1. Create, coordinate, and schedule digital email communications.
  2. Write messaging, build communications, perform segmentation, and execute digital campaigns.
  3. Determine content, frequency, timing, and audience for digital campaigns.
  4. Analyze results and key metrics across email, GoHeels app, social, and web.
  5. Collaborate and proactively brainstorm necessary upcoming communications with department team members.
  6. Support and help coordinate communications within the GoHeels app.
  7. Determine campaign result metrics to optimize digital communications and improve campaign processes.

The focus of the communications will include selling tickets and promoting competitions, teams, and other topics across email, the GoHeels app platform, and other mediums as required.

Minimum Requirements:

Position requires a strong communicator who is creative and strategic, must work with and across multiple external units (including Ticket Operations, Marketing/Fan Experience, and Creative Services), and use metrics to critically analyze, customize, and optimize digital campaigns. A strong strategic writer who is proficient with social media and has experience implementing marketing campaigns and analyzing results is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Graphics design skills, experience running an app, knowledge of Paciolan and Oracle Eloqua are preferred. Experience in Athletics Marketing and/or Athletics Data Analytics is preferred.

Education and Experience:

2-3 years of full-time experience working in college athletics or professional sports marketing, business intelligence/data analytics, sales, and/or communications. Experience with web analytics (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.) and marketing automation programs. Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA, ACC, and institutional rules that relate to this position.

Essential Skills:
  1. Bachelor’s degree required.
  2. Strong strategic writing and verbal communications skills.
  3. Experience planning and implementing marketing campaigns.
  4. Experience analyzing metrics to report campaign results and identify solutions for improvement.
  5. Proficient with social media and apps.
  6. Outstanding organization skills, including a strong design sense and close attention to detail.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Create Suite.
  8. Willingness to work late nights, weekends, and holidays.
