Alexandria VA United States Dental Care of Alexandria Full time

We are looking for a Dental Hygienist in our Dental Care of Alexandria and McLean PLLC office to join our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. This person will handle a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations including cleaning teeth and examining oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease. They also may educate patients on oral hygiene, take x rays, or apply fluoride or sealants. All aspects of the job require an exceptional level of customer service and communication skills.

*Compensation:* $70/hour with additional monthly incentive bonus (Assisted Hygiene using Guided Biofilm Technology available with training included).

*Schedule:* Monday and Wednesday 8A-5P (Lunch 12-1)

*Patients per day:* 13-15 assisted

*Experience:* X-Ray required, Local anesthesia preferred.

*Duties:*

- Perform thorough dental cleanings and assessments to identify any oral health issues.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral health advice.
- Assist dentists with procedures such as fillings, crowns, and extractions.
- Conduct patient assessments, including medical histories and radiographs, to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment.
- Utilize four-handed dentistry to efficiently and effectively perform procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the dental team to develop personalized treatment plans for each patient.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest dental techniques, technologies, and standards of care.
- Participate in medical coding and billing to ensure accurate and timely submissions.

*Qualifications*

- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene.
- Current licensure to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the state of Virginia.
- Strong anatomy knowledge and understanding of dental anatomy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dental office environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with medical imaging and medical coding is an asset.
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities.
