Vice President, Product

As the VP of Product at Abstrax, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our product portfolio. You will be responsible for driving product innovation, developing, and executing product strategies, and leading a talented team of product managers. This role is an opportunity to make a significant impact on our company's growth and success. 

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and vision. Identify market opportunities, trends, and customer needs to drive product development initiatives. 
  • Drive annual planning process for product forecasting, pricing, investment, and resource planning to support product success 
  • Manage all aspects of the product management lifecycle from strategy, planning, launch, and maturation. 
  • Partner with marketing & R&D team to support roll-out strategy and training of new product designs and features. 
  • Lead the development of innovative flavor solutions by staying updated on industry trends, consumer preferences, and emerging technologies. Drive research and development efforts to create cutting-edge flavors. 
  • Build and lead a high-performing product team, including product managers and researchers. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration. 
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to commercialization. Ensure that products meet quality, regulatory, and cost standards while adhering to project timelines. 
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and threats. Use data-driven insights to make informed product decisions. 
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, including sales, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure product alignment and successful product launches. 
  • Manage the product development budget effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost control. 
  • Develop appropriate processes and roadmaps including technology, hiring plans, and training requirements. 
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices Customer Focus: Maintain a strong customer-centric approach by gathering feedback, addressing customer needs, and enhancing customer satisfaction through product improvements. 
  • Define metrics of success and failure; ensure cross functional teams are clear on objectives and establish product goals, metrics, KPI’s.
  • Track corresponding orders to ensure they remain as scheduled 

Qualities and Skills You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in product management and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. 
  • Strong understanding of the flavor manufacturing industry or related fields. 
  • Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills. 
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to drive innovation and creativity within the product team. 
  • Demonstrated track record of successful product launches and market growth.
