Human Systems Integration Engineer

We are excited to offer a career opportunity for a Human Systems Integration Engineer who will become a vital participant in our dynamic team. This role involves using in-depth knowledge in human factors engineering, system design, and usability analysis to optimize user interfaces and system performance in various government-related research, development, and systems acquisition programs. The successful candidate will enhance our understanding and application of human-systems integration in creating solutions that are not only innovative but also user-centered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive human factors engineering analyses and evaluate system performance to optimize user interaction.
  • Work closely with engineers, developers, and designers to ensure ergonomic principles are embedded in all design processes.
  • Design, develop, and manage usability tests to collect precise user data, analyze the outcomes, and implement necessary changes based on feedback.
  • Prepare meticulous documentation and detailed reports that summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations to improve system usability.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and breakthroughs in human systems integration and apply this knowledge to ongoing projects.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or Mathematics with at least 6 years of experience in government-related R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs.
  • A minimum of 4 years of dedicated experience in human systems integration or closely related fields.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities, especially with complex and integrated systems.
  • Exemplary communication skills, capable of clearly conveying concepts and directives across multiple teams.
  • Ability to work effectively within teams, demonstrating strong collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Human Factors Engineering or a relevant discipline preferred.
  • Certification in professional usability and user experience assessments.
  • Prior leadership experience in managing projects that focus on ergonomic and human-centered design.
  • Experience with latest software tools and methodologies used in user interface (UI) design and evaluation.
  • Ability to translate complex human systems considerations into practicable design solutions.

Skills:

  • Expertise in utilizing analytical software and tools related to human factors and ergonomics evaluation.
  • Strong technical writing skills for effective documentation and reporting.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting and project execution.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate dynamic interaction between various stakeholders.
  • Professional proficiency in data analysis and interpretation with an emphasis on usability and human performance metrics.
