The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Endeavor-NorthShore, the principal academic affiliate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, is seeking an Anatomic Pathologist.
The successful candidate must be able to participate in Cytopathology and general Surgical Pathology sign-out covering most organ systems. The department logs over 28,000 cytology accessions and 114,000 surgical pathology specimens annually. Additional responsibilities include teaching residents, medical students, and fellows. Certification by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology is required. Salary, title, and academic rank at the University of Chicago will be commensurate with experience.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine includes 28 full-time physicians and doctoral scientists in the Anatomic, Clinical Pathology and Molecular Pathology Divisions. Many of the Laboratories are centralized at Evanston Hospital and serve the legacy NorthShore system including Evanston, Highland Park, Glenbrook and Skokie hospitals. The Anatomic Pathology Division includes 20 faculty members, and operates using a semi-subspecialized model. Extensive molecular pathology services are available on-site.
