The successful candidate possesses the ability to distill disparate requirements and prioritize them into a recommendation that puts our customers and team members first. Keys to this role are outstanding project management and communication skills, both written and verbal as well as the ability to complete complex tasks and projects quickly with little to no guidance. 5. Manages projects with high levels of ambiguity and complexity, frequently navigating change.
  6. Works upstream of project teams to develop viable programmatic concepts and design solutions.
  7. Communicates effectively with cross-functional stakeholders across different businesses to ensure your design solutions are thoughtful and meet both business and our customer needs.
  8. Translate Brand, Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, Tech and User Experience requirements into cohesive design solutions and drive alignment across functional groups.
  9. Drives the conceptual design process working with key internal and external stakeholders to create comprehensive drawing packages, specifications, prototypes and conduct first article reviews.
  10. Writes program documents that drive new innovations, outlines testing/analysis to inform design decisions and define standards and processes.
  11. Shares information about key learnings and best practices with team members in a comprehensive, concise and engaging way.
  12. Creates presentation packages to communicate design and conducts design review meetings with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  13. Coordinates with Estimating and Construction teams on budget considerations and value engineering as required.
  14. Defines appropriate trade-down solutions driving alignment across stakeholders and creates documentation of these for implementation teams to leverage across projects.
  15. Able to weigh short- and long-term cost considerations to suggest alternative design approaches based on industry standards, sustainability, knowledge of color, material, finish, operational, maintenance and procurement capabilities.
  16. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to changing work environment, effectively dealing with varying workload requirements; can shift gears comfortably, manages competing demands, delays or unexpected events.
  17. Not afraid to fail and share learning for maximum benefit across the design studio.
