You will have the opportunity to sharpen your direct care skills and assist residents with personal cares, household duties such as laundry and meals, and other duties to ensure the household runs efficiently. A highlight about this role is that you will be responsible for providing restorative and rehabilitation care for residents to maintain or regain physical, mental and emotional well-being, under the direction of a Licensed Therapist or RN. You will truly make a difference in the lives of the people around you. What you'll do:
• Provide care to residents under the supervision of the nurse and support of your team
• Provides therapy for residents under the direction of a Licensed Therapist and/or RN
• Instructs residents with the proper techniques to practice exercises and functional activities
• Assists residents with ambulation and exercise program as outlined by the therapist and care plan
• Provide physical support for residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, - using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
• Assists with organizing, cleaning, laundry, meals and other assigned tasks
• Promptly answer residents calls for assistance and provide compassionate care that is in alignment with their specific care plan
• Chart resident interactions throughout shift and communicate efficiently with the members of your team
• Ensures that resident’s rights are adhered to
What you'll need:
• Must possess a current active license to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Iowa.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.
• Strong commitment to serving others
• Effective communication, both verbal and written
• Prior direct care experience preferred, but not required.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, as required
