TOOLING MANAGER – TOOLING DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING
A growing company in the plastics tool making industry is seeking an experienced Tooling manager to lead the design, development, and production of custom extrusion tooling solutions. POSITION SUMMARY: The Tooling manager will oversee the engineering team, manage production operations, and handle customer interactions. This role combines technical design, team leadership, and customer engagement, offering the chance to make a significant impact in a small but highly skilled environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design and development of custom tooling for various extrusion applications, utilizing advanced design software.
- Manage engineering and production teams, overseeing project timelines and resolving technical issues.
- Provide technical expertise during customer consultations, including design recommendations and troubleshooting support.
- Prepare detailed design drawings and manage the production process, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with sales to support technical aspects of customer quotes and business development.
- Evaluate and implement new equipment to enhance production capabilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in tool design, with experience in tool building and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in CAD design software, Creo is a bonus.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience overseeing a small team.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers and provide tailored technical solutions.
