Overview:  This position is responsible to maintain regulatory, professional standards and demonstrate full knowledge of Diagnostic Radiology equipment. Diagnostic Radiology procedures aid in the practice of Occupational Health, which focuses on promotion and restoration of health, prevention of illness and injury and protection from occupational and environmental hazards. Radiologic Technologists are authorized to handle and administer contrast media in accordance with radiology processes and procedures. Competencies are completed through the Radiology department. Responsibilities:

 

 Performs routine and special exams consistent with established protocols to minimize additional imaging and limit radiation dose to as low as reasonably achievable. Exam productivity is within established benchmark.

Consistently completes all exams and documentation in CHL and PACS. Consistently and accurately identifies all changes associated with studies. Addresses errors and resolves issues related to final product being sent to PACS

Consistently demonstrates commitment to safe practices. Commitment to avoid red rule violations (Two for Two), laterality errors, eliminate falls, and ALARA. Completes all annual competencies by designated time frame.

Assumes professional role within work environment (industry, clinic) and serves as a knowledgeable resource to employers and employees in occupational health and safety issues, policies, laws, and regulations.

Performs health screenings and health assessments i.e. post offer physical exams, wellness screenings, audiometric testing, vision screening, bloodborne pathogen exposure care and follow up, drug screening.

Maintains and safeguards confidentiality of employee health information and health records.

Communicates appropriate information to employers and clients in a timely and professional manner i.e.: work related injury information, return to work status, laboratory tests and drug screen results.

Keeps Manager and employer representative advised of all aspects of responsibilities on an on-going basis, ensuring prompt notification when problems or potential problems arise. Notifies Manager immediately when they will be absent due to illness, emergencies, or planned absences.

Documents assessments, treatments, outcomes, work and disability status, screenings and educational offerings in a thorough manner. Maintains clear and concise records for individual and corporate clients to meet the requirements of the department, the company and any applicable standards or laws

EDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalent, Required
Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program.

 

EXPERIENCE:1-2 years, Healthcare - Diagnostic Technologist, Required
Preferred: Occupation Health Clinic experience is preferred but if not then Emergency Care or Critical Care experience is desired.

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
ARRT (R) | Radiologic Technologist - Dx
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Drivers License | Valid Drivers License
If driving Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
PREFERRED
Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) certification.
NIOSH Respiratory Surveillance certification.
DOT and non-DOT urine collection certification.
Breath Alcohol Technician certification.
