WIZO is a nonprofit organization seeking a Bookkeeping/Financial Operations Specialist responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s accounting and finance functions.

Position Summary: WIZO is seeking a Bookkeeping Associate responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s accounting and finance functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the organization’s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with nonprofit accounting principles.
  2. Input financial data and pledges into QuickBooks with exceptional accuracy.
  3. Maintain detailed and accurate records of donations and contributions.
  4. Generate reports, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
  5. Perform reconciliation and ensure account accuracy.
  6. Prepare monthly financial documents.
  7. Manage Office Budget.
  8. Oversee receipt acquisition and expense reporting.
  9. Upload financial documents to the cloud for secure storage and maintain all financial documentation for record keeping.
  10. Provide support for audits and financial reviews.
  11. Work with the development team to ensure financial alignment and accurate donor reporting.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience: 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Authorize.net, and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  3. Accuracy: Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and reporting.
  4. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  6. Accounting Knowledge: Familiarity with nonprofit accounting principles, billing, invoicing, and general ledger management.
  7. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve discrepancies independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working in a nonprofit environment.
  2. Familiarity with donor database management and tracking systems.
