Seeking Full and/or Part-Time Optometrist and Ophthalmologist to join our well-established, privately owned medical practice. Base salary plus incentive bonus available.

Kearney Eye Institute is a rapidly-growing and fully collaborative MD/OD group practice, presently with three full-time ODs and two full-time MDs. We have two locations within 45 minutes of each other, and we have need for the equivalent of two full-time ODs and one or two full-time MDs.

For over 60 years, Kearney Eye Institute has had a loyal and established patient base. Our clinic is fully staffed, with certified ophthalmic technicians and state-of-the-art equipment. Our large optical gallery is on-site with certified opticians and contact lens technicians. With an atmosphere that promotes mutual respect and cooperation, our management and staff work closely for the combined goal of providing outstanding eye care services.

General Job Outline:

  • Provide high-quality vision care to all ages
  • Diagnose and manage ocular diseases and disorders
  • Provide post-op care
  • Educate patients on eye health, preventative care, and treatment options
  • Provide same-day emergency care and have on-call responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our supportive team to ensure the best patient outcomes
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in optometry and ophthalmology
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Location: Kearney is a rapidly growing, family-friendly city in the heartland of Nebraska. Our city includes two universities; University of Nebraska-Kearney and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, which includes a branch of the college of medicine. Our medium-sized city is known for its friendly people, recreational activities, children’s sports and other opportunities, beautiful trails, plentiful parks, and outdoor sporting activities. We are centrally located, within a two-hour drive of Lincoln, 2.5 hours from Omaha, and less than a half day's drive to both Kansas City and Denver.
