Leasing Agent with Marketing Expertise

Canvas Property Group is looking for a motivated Leasing Agent with extensive marketing experience to join the in-house leasing team reporting to the Co-Directors for a growing portfolio. This opportunity will require strong people skills and the ability to sell and connect with prospective and current tenants. As the leasing agent, you will be working A-Z in the leasing process which will include marketing apartments, generating customer leads, managing showing schedules, showing units, gathering application documents, and preparing leases.

In addition, the position’s marketing focus will play a crucial role in elevating Canvas’s portfolio through CRM strategies, tenant engagement, email marketing, broker outreach, and effective utilization of NYC’s listings platforms, such as StreetEasy. This position requires a deep understanding of the NYC real estate landscape, particularly in managing campaigns that resonate with both tenants and brokers while leveraging digital marketing tools to maximize property visibility and engagement.

Responsibilities:

· Must be flexible and available to work on location to lease and pre-lease apartments.

· Regularly assess property conditions to facilitate timely absorption rates.

· Develop and execute CRM and email marketing strategies focused on tenant retention, lead nurturing, and engagement.

· Build targeted campaigns that communicate property features, community updates, and exclusive offers to potential and existing tenants.

· Implement marketing initiatives designed to foster tenant satisfaction and loyalty.

· Work closely with property management teams to align marketing efforts with tenant needs and proactively address feedback.

· Organize broker events, property tours, and develop materials that showcase property value and distinctiveness.

· Manage property listings on NYC platforms, including StreetEasy and other high-traffic rental listing systems.

· Ensure listings are optimized for visibility and accuracy and reflect Canvas’s commitment to quality and luxury.

· Maintain a consistent brand presence across all marketing channels and adapt strategies based on market trends and competitive insights within the NYC luxury rental market.

· Respond to inquiries and maintain schedules for showing.

· Tour prospective tenants through the building apartments and amenities, with a strong ability to sell.

· Process incoming lease applications, including qualifying prospects and running credit verifications, as well as prepare financial snapshots for financial approval.

· Prepare leases and coordinate collections of security deposits and first-month rental payments for incoming tenants.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 3+ years’ experience within NYC real estate – leasing agent.

· Licensed New York Salesperson (Required).

· Experience with On-Site / Bilt (Preferred).

· Experience with Yardi (Preferred/Not Required).

· Experience with Canva (Preferred/Not Required).

· Highly organized, with the ability to multitask.

· A self-starter and team player with the ability to work autonomously.

· Must have the ability to work and thrive in a fast pace working environment.

· Must have strong sales techniques and etiquette.

· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Skilled in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and technologically savvy.

· Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.

· The ability to learn new proprietary leasing tech and willingness to work within the platform daily.

· Knowledge of Rent Stabilization preferred.

Compensation: W-2 Employee, includes Salary + Commission + Bonus:

Range of $60,000 to $85,000 (based on experience)
