Company Description

Bay Area Rehabilitation Center is dedicated to providing outpatient therapeutic, vocational, social skill training, and recreational services for individuals with disabilities or injuries, as well as support services for their families. Our comprehensive programs, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, aquatic therapy, sports injuries, worker rehabilitation, and women's health physical therapy, cater to all age groups.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Speech Language Pathologist at Bay Area Rehabilitation Center located in Baytown, TX. The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for conducting speech therapy sessions, diagnosing and treating communication disorders, working with patients experiencing speech and language difficulties, addressing swallowing disorders (dysphagia), and also supervising an SLPA. We are also able to take a CFY candidate, we have a dedicated supervisor ready from our parallel ECI (Early Childhood Intervention) department.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Speech Therapy, Communication Disorders, and Language Disorders
  • Experience in diagnosing and treating communication disorders and conducting therapy sessions
  • Knowledge of dysphagia and experience in addressing swallowing disorders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with assessment and evaluation tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with patients and their families
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC credential & requisite experience to supervise SLPA
  • Graduate of a Masters Speech-Language Pathology program that is ready to complete their CFY

Relevant skills and qualifications that would be beneficial include experience working with children, specialized training in specific speech and language disorders, familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) techniques, and knowledge of assistive technology for communication. Experience in a similar healthcare or rehabilitation setting is also advantageous.
