FSO - Real Estate – Manager: This position can be anywhere in the country (primary: NY).

You will use your professional skills and experience to assist our clients in addressing the accounting and financial reporting challenges facing their businesses.

As a leader in serving the global financial services marketplace, EY has a separate business unit dedicated to the financial services industry – the Financial Services Organization (FSO). Our purpose is to help build a financial services industry in which financial institutions are trusted and flourish.

The opportunity

You’ll help our Real Estate clients meet their reporting requirements by accurately reporting on financial statements and providing meaningful insights into accounting and reporting matters. You’ll gain exposure to a broad array of investment funds, hotel construction, and commercial developers.

Your key responsibilities

  1. Providing exceptional audit activities for our clients.
  2. Leading fieldwork, managing performance and keeping engagement leaders updated on audit engagements.
  3. Completing audit processes and documenting higher-risk areas.
  4. Engaging clients and providing authoritative advice throughout transactions.
  5. Constantly developing your understanding of current market trends and processes.
  6. Understanding our clients’ unique ambitions and needs.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business, supported by 2-3 years’ work experience as an auditor in a public accounting firm’s real estate practice.
  2. US CPA licensure in your work state.
  3. Experience leading the planning, execution and reporting on audits of financial statements applying US GAAP.
  4. Proven project management skills.
  5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  6. The flexibility to constantly learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Ideally you’ll have:

  1. Experience with REIT’s, Real Estate investments, and commercial construction or development.
