Title: Scientist (Level I) Quality Control
Location: Fully Onsite, Carlsbad, CA
Work Schedule: Full-time, M-F
Contract Duration: 10-month (May be extended, but not guaranteed.)
Pay Rate: $20 - $25/hour

Responsibilities:
As a Scientist I, you will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative team and will play a critical role in performing Quality Control assays and experiments on molecular biology reagents for global use in research and commercial products in the life sciences industry.
  • Qualifying product(s) in a lab setting following standard operating procedures
    Performing various assays which may include the following: PCR, qPCR, Bioanalyzer, HPLC, HPIC, small/medium nucleic acid purification, Polyacrylamide and Agarose Gel Electrophoresis, Cloning and Transformation, FRET, and flow cytometry.
  • Creating and maintaining specification batch records and other work order documents
  • Analyzing data and making detailed observations to ensure product quality
  • Initiating and processing problem notifications for deviations and material nonconformance
  • Maintaining equipment, product inventories, and related records

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred or at least 4 years of experience in a research laboratory setting with a minimum of High School diploma.
  • Experience with standard laboratory techniques and analytical instruments
