POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide high quality, efficient, cost-effective, and state of the art medical services for the Primary Care department at Catholic Medical Center. Evaluates and assesses patient's needs and manages all aspects of patient care to attain the delivery of efficient, cost effective, quality care. Foster a positive work environment for staff conducive to professional growth, accountability and autonomy. Creates and maintains a warm and friendly atmosphere for patients, Catholic Medical Center Health staff, referring and staff physicians, and visitors.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer and under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager, Executive Director of Primary Care and the Executive Medical Director within established Catholic Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures and all applicable laws, through own actions or by delegating to appropriate co-workers, the Primary Care physician performs the following functions:

  1. Deliver high quality, cost-effective healthcare services.
  2. Strive to create and maintain a common culture within the group, representing a spirit of “collegial collaboration.”
  3. Devote professional time and attention to their position with the PPA.
  4. Participate in business decisions related to or affecting the practice.
  5. Maintain an atmosphere of respect and appreciation for contributions to patient care.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:

OSHA RATING: Category I (Exposure to blood borne pathogens)

PHI ACCESS: Complete

WORK SCHEDULE: A full time work schedule is equivalent to 36 patient contact hours per week with four administrative hours. Schedules may vary from 4 to 4.5 days per week depending on the number of hours worked each day.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of medicine. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required.

Experience: Proven experience as a physician with strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics including interpretation and evaluation of symptoms.

Licensure/Certification: Board Certified in INTERNAL MEDICAL/FAMILY MEDICINE or Board Eligible with successful completion of boards within two (2) years.

Standard of Business Conduct: Individuals are required to refrain from participating in any activities that could be construed as fraud and abuse. Requires the ability to follow Catholic Medical Center’s Standards of Business Conduct.
