Summary:
Provides direct patient care, in a medical/physician office setting.

Responsibilities:
Evaluates, plans, implements and coordinates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Collaborates as needed across disciplines and serves as a liaison to coordinate patient care.

Assists the physician and advanced practice provider in the prescribed plan of care. Measures, applies and adjusts casts, splints, braces and ambulatory assistive devices.

Provides clinical education and expert guidance to patients and families as it pertains to procedures and plan of care.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:
  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree. Continuing education in the field.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: Certification by National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA). Registration with the State of Colorado as an Athletic Trainer. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year of experience in an orthopedic setting providing direct patient care.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
