BluePearl Pet Hospital in Downtown Manhattan, NY is hiring skilled Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work in our thriving and dynamic Emergency and Critical Care department.

We have day and overnight shifts available, with a 3-day work week, long weekends, and a predictable schedule for better work-life balance.

**This position is eligible for up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus**

Pay: $26.50 - $51.00 / hour

*This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience*

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. *Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:

Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential

Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $6.00 Shift Differential

Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50 Shift Differential

If you're eager to expand your skills in anesthesia, surgery, CT, and scoping, our Emergency Technician service is for you We offer a unique skills verification system with clear pathways for leveling up and career growth, including annual promotions and potential pay increases. With in-hospital training, CE, and knowledge sharing between Veterinarians and Technicians, you'll continuously build your expertise.

As a Veterinary Technician, you will:

Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital and follow them from ER treatment to admission in our intensive care unit.

Perform anesthesia for minor procedures like bite wound repairs, lacerations, etc.

Perform digital radiography, utilizing sedation and other restraint/positioning techniques.

Use your understanding of normal patient vital signs to monitor and identify patients who are at risk for arrest.

Have the opportunity to be certified in both BLS and ALS RECOVER CPR for free

Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.

Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters.

Learn to place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.

Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.

Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.

Our technicians are leveled by their skillset and have the opportunity to advance their leveling by utilizing our CareerTrax competency system with twice-a-year advancement exams.
