About the Role:

As a CNC Programmer, you will be a vital part of our production process, responsible for creating programs, setting up, and running complex jobs on our CNC Vertical Machining Centers. You will collaborate with our engineering and production teams to ensure the efficient and accurate manufacturing of high-quality components. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, hands-on machining experience, and a collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities:

  • Create programs and setup complex jobs on various CNC Vertical Machining Centers with 3, 4, 4+1 -axis (Haas and Mori)
  • Estimate process steps, programming, setup, cycle time, and tooling costs
  • Have a strong knowledge of machining, metalworking principles, and assembly procedures
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and QA personnel
  • Develop machining processes to optimize efficiency and productivity
  • Ensure strict adherence to all company manufacturing standards/methods and policies
  • Assist in the resolution of manufacturing problems
  • Work directly with the Engineering Manager and utilize in-house HAAS/Mori

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of progressive experience in a machine shop environment
  • Experience operating CNC machine tools as well as other shop fabrication equipment
  • Experience in programming (Mastercam), setting up, and running CNC Milling machines
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T engineering drawings
  • Experience with machining of various metals
  • Experience and knowledge of cutting tool properties for proper selection of tools/holders/inserts, cutting tools, speeds & feeds
  • Knowledge of Prototype and Production work holding concepts for CNC milling & for conventional machining processes
  • Knowledge of hydraulic fixtures, working mechanisms, and troubleshooting (a plus)
  • Experience utilizing CAD/CAM software such as Solidworks, Unigraphics, Mastercam, and associated file formats (parasolids, stp. Iges etc)
  • Strong problem analysis and solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office software applications
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Good judgment/decision-making skills
