As a Product Manager you will help guide Emporia’s AC charging, bidirectional EV charging and home energy management products into the future by tracking industry trends, understanding customer needs, and plotting a course with our internal teams to ensure every one of our products continues to provide exceptional customer value. We expect this role to demonstrate a high level of ownership – we are looking for individuals that want to get involved in every aspect of a product and get their hands dirty.

As as Product Manger at Emporia you will:

  • Develop comprehensive product strategies for Emporia’s EV charger offerings in all stages of the product lifecycle - from roadmap ideation to sustaining and sunsetting. Gain approval and execute on these strategies.
  • Develop Market Requirements Documents for new product ideas that clearly articulates business justification and competitive positioning within the market.
  • Manage execution of go-to-market strategy for newly launched products.
  • Develop and maintain product financials that includes forecasted vs actuals performance.
  • Provide updates to the CEO and wider executive team. Ensure clear, concise, and actionable information on our product offerings is delivered regularly. Be respectful, opinionated, and confident – provide the insights and data needed to allow management to make smart choices, and help guide them to those choices when needed.
  • Work with internal marketing and customer service teams to ensure Emporia’s products remain competitive by understanding customer feedback and engagement.
  • Define key performance indicators for your products. Track competitor offerings and develop metrics as needed to perform product comparisons. Synthesize available information – while understanding information gaps – in order to make data driven decisions.
  • Ensure clean execution of all product related activities by working closely with our program managers. You will be the responsible person for your products – do whatever it takes to ensure they stay on strategy and continue to evolve with consumer desires while staying in line with Emporia’s overall company strategy. 
  • Understand the evolving residential EV charging competitive landscape. Attend conferences and trade shows, develop contacts with industry experts, and perform your own research to ensure our product strategies a being developed with the best possible understanding of the marketplace today and where it’s heading tomorrow.
  • Maintain relationships with relevant industry experts, regulatory bodies, and other entities as required to remain ahead of the curve in the EV charging landscape.
  • Work with Emporia’s partners to guide joint developments and white label opportunities in line with the product strategies you have developed to ensure these activities are as positive for all parties involved as possible.
  • Remain flexible, humble, and be ready to jump in wherever help is needed. 

Basic qualifications include:

  • BS/BA in engineering, design, business or other relevant areas.
  • 5+ years industry experience as a product manager or similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading consumer electronics programs.
  • Exceptional understanding of the EV charging and smart home energy management landscape.
  • Project management experience – demonstrated ability to define complex products, track relevant information, and execute on tasks both directly and through collaboration with other teams both internal and external.
  • Familiarity working with designers (both internal and contract), engineers, marketing, and customer support. You must be able to “talk their language” as needed to ensure clear and quick communication is possible.
  • A superb attention to detail and an ability to think strategically. Able to cut through the noise and focus on what is important while helping those around you do the same.

We are especially excited about candidates with the following additional qualifications:

  • Product management experience in the EV charging and smart home energy management space.
  • Direct experience working with one or more EV manufacturers.
  • M.B.A. or other advanced degree in Product Management or other related field.

  • Product Manager, $120-$160k
  • Sr. Product Manager, $140k - $180k
