Certified Pharmacy Technician needed in Jamaica , NY

*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the pharmacy operations within a hospital setting, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to patients. Your expertise in medical terminology, aseptic technique, and patient care will be essential in providing high-quality service to our critical care units and other departments.

*Duties*
* Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV infusions and inhalation therapies.
* Maintain accurate patient medication records and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
* Perform medication administration under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
* Utilize aseptic techniques to prepare sterile products safely.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and medication management.
* Provide education to patients regarding their medications, including potential side effects and proper usage.
* Participate in inventory management, including ordering, restocking, and monitoring expiration dates of medications.
* Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy work area to maintain a safe environment.

*Skills*
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmacy practice.
* Proficiency in aseptic technique for preparing sterile medications.
* Experience working in a hospital environment, particularly in critical care settings.
* Ability to administer medications accurately and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
* Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple tasks effectively.
* Familiarity with pharmacy software systems for record keeping and medication dispensing.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:
