Remodeling and Construction Laborer

ALL STAR CONSTRUCTION is hiring a dependable Remodeling and Construction Laborer for residential and commercial projects throughout Orange County, California. This hands-on role covers general construction labor, remodeling, site preparation, repairs and finish work. Work assignments depend on the project, your demonstrated skills and company authorization.

Employment, schedule and pay

Part-time W-2 employee position with variable shifts based on available projects.

Hours depend on workload. No minimum hours or fixed weekly schedule are guaranteed.

Pay: $18.75–$32.00 per hour, based on relevant skills and experience.

Paid biweekly, every other Friday, through ADP payroll.

Applicable higher minimum wages, overtime and project-specific prevailing wages will be paid where required by law.

What you’ll do

Assist with residential and commercial remodeling and general construction, including demolition, job-site preparation, framing, basic carpentry, trim, baseboards, doors and finish repairs within your skills and authorization.

Load, unload and move materials, tools and supplies safely. Measure and cut materials as assigned; protect work areas, remove debris and keep the job site organized.

Assist with drywall installation and repairs, including backing, patches and replacement sections as assigned.

Perform drywall taping, mudding, sanding and surface preparation within your demonstrated skills.

Texture matching and more advanced finish work may be assigned based on experience.

Prime and paint repaired surfaces to achieve a seamless, professional finish that blends with the surrounding area.

Protect homeowner and customer property and belongings, contain dust, and leave neat, clean work areas with professional workmanship.

Use tools and required protective equipment safely and work professionally in customers’ homes and businesses.

What we’re looking for

At least 2 years of hands-on construction or remodeling experience required. Tell us which construction, carpentry, drywall, painting and repair tasks you can perform.

Ability to follow crew instructions, work with a team and complete familiar assigned tasks after receiving the scope and instructions. Check your work, ask questions when unsure and communicate issues promptly.

Follow jobsite safety requirements, permit and trade rules, and required quality checks. Specialized electrical or plumbing work must follow applicable licensing, permit and supervision requirements.

Familiarity with common construction hand tools and power tools, safe material handling and job-site cleanup.

Dependable attendance, attention to detail, teamwork and professional conduct.

Have your own reliable transportation arrangements to changing job sites throughout Orange County, California. Worksites are countywide; Garden Grove is our home base, not a radius restriction. Owning a car is not required if you can reliably reach assigned job sites.

Tools and work expenses

Personal tools are a plus; employer provides legally required tools and safety equipment. Personal tool ownership is not a condition of employment. Compensable work travel is paid, and required vehicle and other business expenses are reimbursed as required by law.

Paid 30-day evaluation

Your first 30 calendar days begin with your first paid work or required training. We evaluate reliability, safety, skills, workmanship and teamwork based on work actually performed.

All work and required training are paid. This is not an unpaid trial or a fixed 30-day employment term. It does not delay statutory benefits or rights or guarantee work hours, continued employment, a raise or full-time status.
