*Here's What You Need *
* Master's Degree Speech Language Pathology is required Or
* Other Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is required
* SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire is required Or
* SLP-I - Speech Language Pathology Intern Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire is required
* SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire is preferred And
* BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required
* CCC-SLP - Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology is Strongly Preferred

*What You Will Do*
* Performs age appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care
* Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validates for appropriateness
* Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
* Performs age appropriate patient treatment Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment
* Motivates non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy.
* Demonstrates Professional accountability
* Utilizes available resources (equipment, support personnel, educational resources) to maximize efficiency and productivity and to meet personal developmental needs.
* As required, participates appropriately in departmental safety drills / emergency procedures
* Performs Appropriate Documentation
* Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines
* Documents and reports unusual occurrences, on the job injuries, and medical device malfunctioning
* Other Significant Activities in Addition to Job Responsibilities/Competencies
* Participates in strategies to meet business initiatives and unit/team, program, and department specific goals and targets
