This is an on-site opportunity located in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Graduate-level coursework in social science research methods and/or mixed-methods approaches.
- Experience working with social datasets such as the American Community Survey, Social Vulnerability Index, and Climate & Economic Justice Screening Tool.
- Ability to perform integrative research across physical and social sciences, such as flood damage assessment modeling and analysis of distribution of environmental burdens. Understanding of hydrology.
- Comfort with computational modeling in R, Python, or similar.
- Comfort with interdisciplinary research and working on interdisciplinary teams; demonstrated skill in networking across social and physical sciences.
- Understanding of USACE policy and planning practices.
