Job Summary and QualificationsThe Director Infection Prevention is responsible for the effective development, implementation, evaluation and surveillance of organizational infection control initiatives, standards and compliance. This position is also responsible for the direction of the operation of the infection prevention and control/epidemiology department, including education of Team Members and consultation with the organization, CDC, and the county and state health departments. The responsibilities encompass compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, CMS, OSHA, and state regulations, outbreak investigation, and overall direction of the infection prevention and control program. .
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree
Education Preferred:
Master's Degree in Public Health, relevant experience considered in lieu of education
Experienced Required:
At least 5 years of relevant experience with progressive responsibility. Experience in Nursing with Epidemiology/Infectious Diseases focus. Departmental management experience.
License/Certification Required:
Registered Nurse with Certification in Infection Control required; active Georgia Registered Nurse licensure, may obtain within 6 months of hire
