Performs diagnostic medical radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures through interpretation.

* Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology; Required and
* Associate's degree Preferred
Experience

* Prior work experience not required Required
Licenses and Certifications

* RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification. Required and
* ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiology Technologist license in the State of Maryland. Required and
* CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation CPR certification. Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Verbal and written communication skills.
* Basic computer skills preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* Acquires ordered images including evaluating these images for technical quality. Sends images to appropriate destinations for interpretation.
* Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
* Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Reports any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions.
* Maintains X-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order. Performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis.
* Obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedures.
* Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Performs radiographic examinations.
* Prepares as required by the profession and the department, such written documentation as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, and progress reports.
* Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times.
* Transports patients to radiographic room and prepares and maintains room.
