About being our Electrical Construction Inspector

As our Electrical Construction Inspector , you will join the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) project team of 40+ planners, architects, engineers, and other technical professionals to plan & design their next wave of capital investments, including airfield improvements, terminal improvements, infrastructure improvements, and more.


Responsibility Highlights for our Electrical Construction Inspector

  • Ability to diagnose violations and hazards in new and existing electrical/IT installations and take a proactive approach during construction.
  • General understanding of low voltage systems including fire/life safety and information technology.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents, electrical codes, and applicable standards.
  • Inspectors must have the ability to set priorities, make decisions, work effectively with minimal supervision, and deal tactfully with LAWA stakeholders, contractors, construction workers, and the public, conducting themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Minimum Qualifications to be our Electrical Construction Inspector

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector.
  • 3+ years' experience performing electrical/IT inspections.
  • 3+ years' experience with airfield lighting.
  • Proof of NFPE-70E standards (Completion of training must have been achieved within the last 3 years).
  • 30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment (The 30-hour training will have been received within the last 4 years).
  • Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, and techniques of the electrical/IT trade.
