About the Role:
The Regional Director will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive public relations strategies for Camelback Resort and Blue Mountain Resort, two premier ski and water park destinations in the Pocono Mountains. This position will play a pivotal role in driving media coverage, managing influencer relationships, and enhancing the resorts’ brand reputation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Media Relations:
- Develop and implement strategic media relations to secure positive media coverage across various outlets, including print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
- Craft compelling press release campaigns, media kits and other promotional materials that highlight our resorts’ features, events, and initiatives. Ensure all content aligns with our brand voice and messaging.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media contacts at local, regional and national levels.
- Monitor media coverage and analyze its impact on the resorts’ brand.
Influencer Marketing:
- Collaborate with social media teams to ensure consistent messaging and to amplify Public Relation efforts across various digital platforms.
- Identify, vet, and engage with influencers within the travel, outdoor and lifestyle industries.
- Track and measure influencer performance to assess ROI and optimize future campaigns.
Crisis Communication:
- Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address potential issues and protect the resorts' reputation.
- Serve as a spokesperson during crisis situations and provide timely and accurate information to stakeholders.
Brand Management:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the resorts' brand identity and messaging.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all communication channels.
Market Research
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging PR opportunities to keep our strategies innovative and effective.
Reporting Analytics:
- Track and analyze PR metrics, including media placements, social media engagement, and website traffic.
- Prepare regular reports on PR activities and their effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, with a focus on travel, tourism, outdoor winter/summer recreation or hospitality.
- Strong media relations skills, including experience pitching to journalists and securing media placements.
- Proven track record in developing and executing successful influencer marketing campaigns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of the ski and water park industries.
