JOB DESCRIPTION
Provides internal and external customer service through timely research and preparation of requested payroll tax returns and ensure the accuracy of our customers' federal, state and local filings.
Responsible for timely deposits and filing of all Monthly, Quarterly and Annual payroll related tax returns for multiple FEIN's. Manages the Federal 941 and 940, State Withholding, State Unemployment, Local Withholding and submittal of wage information to SSA. Performs audits in preparation for employee W2's.
Provides client support for tax maintenance that may include working with the client service teams for complex payroll corrections, amending tax returns, onboarding and offboarding clients and working with tax agencies and clients.
Interact with Accounting, Quality Control and Payroll Departments to identify and resolve variances during payroll data extracts. Ensures all tax accounts are in balance.
Investigates and works with tax agencies to resolves payroll tax notices, penalties, amendments and questionnaire requests.
Responsibilities include reconciliation of tax accounts and analyzing of account variances. Works directly with the client and/or service teams on variance resolutions.
Maintains knowledge of payroll tax, including laws/regulations, enacted and proposed legislation, trends, and industry best practices.
Completes all payroll tax registrations for clients.
Review and input tax rates and/or deposit frequency changes as part of client compliance efforts.
•High School diploma and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
•Consideration may be given to a candidate with a degree in lieu of experience.
•Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, organizational skills, ability to work with numbers accurately, strong communication skills (both verbal and written), the ability to work as part of a team and work independently preferred.
