Position Overview
Job Title: Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Location: South Holland, Illinois
Status: Full-time
Key Requirements
- Technical Expertise: 3-5 years of experience in maintenance, particularly in a processing and packaging environment.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, VFDs, welding, AC drives, PLCs, pneumatics, HACCP, GMP, and USDA regulations.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as HVAC, PLC, or OSHA safety certifications are highly desirable.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues efficiently.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment, including lifting equipment, standing for long periods, and working in various temperature conditions.
- Education: High school diploma or GED; an associate degree or technical training in a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation and reduce downtime.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues, and perform repairs or adjustments as needed to maintain production efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections, using the company’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees by identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure machinery meets operational standards and supports production schedules.
