We are paying a $4000 signing bonus for this position (bonus to be paid quarterly and subject to succesful completion of 90 day probationary period);

Sapphire Nursing at Wappingers, a premier skilled nursing facility located in Dutchess County, New York is seeking to hire clinically superb, dynamic RN Unit Manager to join our growing team on a full-time basis. Registered Nurse Responsibilities:

· Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports.

· Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions.

· Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments.

· Recording patient vital signs and medical information.

· Ordering medical diagnostic and clinical tests.

· Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions.

· Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.

· Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses.

· Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and facility staff.

· Assess the need for, develop, and implement written policies and procedures for infection control, including those for standard precautions and for transmission-based precautions, including when these should be used, the duration of use, and the type of precautions needed for a particular infection or organism

· Enforce policies prohibiting staff with communicable diseases or infected skin lesions from direct contact with residents and their food, and enforce hand hygiene policies consistent with accepted standards of practices

· Serve as a member of the quality assessment and assurance committee

· Be accountable for surveillance of healthcare-acquired and community-acquired infections for residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors

· Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and ensure that the facility leaders are informed of appropriate issues; understand and comply with infection control, safety, and OSHA procedures and regulations

Registered Nurse Requirements:

· Passed the National Council Licensure Examination or NCLEX-RN.

· Current state licensure as a registered nurse and BLS certification required.

· American Heart Association BLS/CPR

· ACLS certification

· Preferred to have an infection preventionist certification

· Basic computer skills.

· Professional, friendly attitude.

· 1 year experience (Preferred).
