SUMMARY:  Stores, inventories, and issues material and compiles stock records in stockroom.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:  Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Performs cycle counts.
  • Weighs small parts in order to count and distribute into kits. 
  • Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to stock tags. 
  • Issues door tags as required. 
  • Distributes stock to production workers, keeping records of material issued. 
  • Reads and follows SP0009 Picker Note instructions. 
  • Issues material from pre-built stock inventory when possible.
  •  Issues newly arrived components for critical parts shortages when possible. 
  • Performs daily cycle count of selected stock items and compares to computer stock records. 
  • Resolves discrepancies as required. 
  • Maintains inventory and other stock records in computer and prints reports. 
  • Responsible for neatness of stockroom, following ‘first in, first out’ procedures, and maintenance of stock locations to accommodate changes, additions and deletions.
  • Moves or transports materials to other departments.   

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES  Requires knowledge typically acquired through

  • Completion of a High school diploma or general education degree (GED),
  • Three months to two years of related experience or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. CRT experience and experience with scales. 
  • May be required to operate forklift and pallet jack. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. 
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.   
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
