I’m working on a Forward Deployed Analytics Engineer position with a well-funded, high-growth data and AI company that works with major brands selling through some of the largest home improvement retailers in the US.
What makes the role interesting is that it goes beyond traditional Analytics Engineering. You’d sit at the intersection of data, product, and customers - working directly with clients to understand real commercial problems, getting hands-on with the underlying data, and building the models, tools, and insights that actually help businesses make better decisions around things like pricing, inventory, product assortment, and distribution.
Technically, they’re looking for someone with strong SQL and data warehousing experience, ideally with tools such as dbt, and experience building and maintaining data models. Experience with ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, Power BI, Tableau, or similar technologies would all be relevant.
The bigger attraction, in my view, is the scope of the role. You wouldn’t be siloed into one part of the data lifecycle, you’d have visibility across the entire process and the opportunity to work closely with both the technical team and customers.
The company is well funded, growing strongly, and this is currently one of their highest-priority hires.
