The Ideal Candidate

The EDI Director will oversee Genesco's Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Department, functions and systems and provide recommendations for B2B service improvements.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Develop and implement EDI strategies and initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and improve data accuracy.
  • Evaluate existing EDI systems, infrastructure, and protocols to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Manage work intake, prioritization, assignment and maintenance of EDI processes and applications.
  • Personnel management activities including performance management and career development.
  • Ensure appropriate level of support for the ongoing performance of EDI processes and applications.
  • Act as a Liaison between business units, trading partners and EDI team.
  • Mentor, coach, and guide EDI staff, and provide day to day team leadership.
  • Collaborate with Management peers to facilitate alignment of organizational business and information technology strategies and plans.
  • Maintain a leadership role in setting direction and ensure standards and policies are maintained.
  • Collaborate with Management peers to improve departmental and organizational performance by developing benchmark measures/KPIs to evaluate productivity and service quality.
  • Conduct evaluations of EDI Services and Business Partners and negotiate contracts.


Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Specialist/Subject Matter Expert with minimum 10 years relevant professional experience.
  • Knowledge of system architecture and performance fundamentals.
  • Strong Competency in EDI Standards, Technology and Communications Protocols.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain, Logistics and distribution concepts and processes.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Able to manage time and stress in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Responsible for the design and architecture of scalable and robust EDI solutions.
  • Develop team's analytical skills and knowledge, lead efforts to develop core competencies.
  • Working with business stakeholders to define EDI strategies, roadmaps and funding requests.
  • Strategic thinking and planning with operational execution excellence.
