Job Summary: The Occupational Therapist-Rehab will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive and advanced program for occupational therapy. This position will include performing patient evaluations, goal setting, integrative treatment planning, follow-up assessments and ongoing patient and family education. Provides care according to Occupational therapy, Medical Center policies and procedures and the application of treatment techniques in accordance with discipline specific designated practice act. Is responsible for providing outpatient services under physician's orders. Fosters a constructive and supportive approach to department operations. Promotes professional, collegial relationships. Understands economic constraints and practices are designed to conserve resources. Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistant and Rehabilitation Technicians when indicated. Opportunities to participate in and initiate clinical research trials, involving occupational therapy and patient treatments and/or outcomes. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy required. Suitable combination of education, training or experience along with a California license in Occupational Therapy is acceptable. No experience required.

Knowledge and Skills: Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.

Licensures and Certifications: Currently licensed by California Board of Occupational Therapy required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
