PSP VISTA: Bridger Elementary School This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership and is based at Bridger Elementary School in Logan, UT. AmeriCorps VISTA is a National Service program. All AmeriCorps VISTA positions are full-time hours for one calendar year, as mandated by the Corporation for National and Community Service. Successful completion of a one-year service term qualifies all VISTA members for either an education award of $6895 or a cash stipend of $1800 (direct deposit). Member Duties : The VISTA member will help this population break the cycle of poverty associated with societal barriers and lack of access to needed resources and support. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 1) Implement the Watch Dogs volunteer program. 2) Work collaboratively with the Parent Liaison to create a comprehensive system to support and reinforce students with high absenteeism and tardiness. 3) Create programs that provide unique experiences and privileges for students, such as the Student Leadership Team and Recess Coaches, that helps build leadership skills and fosters a positive school culture. 4) Develop and implement a structured recess program to provide students with safe and engaging opportunities to be physically active and build social skills.
