HR Generalist - Payroll and Benefits

Vaco is working with a medical device company to add an HR Generalist to the Durham, NC team. As the HR Generalist, you will process weekly and biweekly payroll for North American employees. Our ideal candidate holds a SHRM and/or HRCI certification. This is a full-time opportunity that will require being onsite.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process including but not limited to data entry, payroll processing, and distribution of paychecks.
  • Ensure accuracy of employee time records, deductions, and withholdings.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely and professional manner.
  • Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations.
  • Prepare and file required payroll tax reports and other regulatory filings.
  • Keep abreast of changes in legislation affecting payroll and benefits administration and implement necessary changes to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records related to payroll and benefits administration.
  • Provide general HR support including employee onboarding, offboarding, and record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with HR team members on projects and initiatives as needed.

    Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or equivalent
  • 7+ years of HR Generalist, payroll, and/or benefit experience
  • 4+ years of payroll administration experience
  • SHRM and/or HRCI certification preferred
  • Experience in medical device or similar FDA regulated environment
