Cove's Edge is a dually certified 76 bed Long Term Care and Skilled facility located on the Miles Campus of LincolnHealth in the heart of beautiful mid-coast Maine. Come join our team, we are presently seeking a full time Activity Coordinator
  • Position Summary This position consists of 36 hours per week.
    • The Activity Coordinator takes part in designing patient and resident centered programs that encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation, emotional and spiritual fulfillment. Has a wide degree of creativity and latitude and performs a variety of multiple tasks. Will work as part of an integrated team and join various committees to continually improve a person centered culture, and to achieve positive customer service outcomes. Will take part in coordinating and supervising volunteer services at Cove's Edge in order to enhance services and to keep operating costs down. Will take part in design and creation of indoor and outdoor areas to support therapeutic environments and a loving comfortable home. Will take part in maintaining chart documentation in accordance with regulation and will attend interdisciplinary meetings. Assists in preparing annual activity budgets, purchasing and organizing an inventory of supplies and equipment and maintaining a cost effective department. Takes part in fund raising projects. Works as an advisor to Cove's Edge Resident Council and supports Resident Rights. Maintains current Maine driver's license and operates facility vehicles in providing transportation for resident/patient community outings.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred..
    • License/Certifications: Certification from Activity Coordinator course must be completed within 1 year of employment. CPR Certification required. CNA certification is preferred. Current valid Maine driver's license required.
    • Experience: Experience with geriatric population and those who have dementia.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as medical charts, regulations, policies and procedures, safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
    • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers. Ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume and distance.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
