Overview: As an Assistant Welding Instructor for the Merrill Institute, you will be responsible for assisting the welding instructor for training courses as part of an overall welding program.Classroom responsibilities include teaching structural fabrication, repair and maintenance, welding processes: GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW, along with thermal cutting operations. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, machnically inclined, and have the ability to successfully work with students from diverse backgrounds utilizing a variety of teaching methods in the classroom and lab, and should possess a good understanding of the manufacturing/welding industry.

Job Functions:
Assist with all lecture, lab and classroom instruction according to the required curriculum.
Assists students in subject areas such as use, maintenance, and the safe operations of tools and equipment, codes, or regulations related to welding industry.
Assists students in subjects regarding the importance of accuracy, neatness, efficiency, resourcefulness and good work habits in obtaining employment in manufacturing.
Advise students in school policies and satisfactory performance
Maintain good communication with the Welding Instructor regardinga ll activity
Monitor consumable supplies as well as educational materials from administrative office when needed.
Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times. Ensure that students follow the course objectives daily.
Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings set by cooperate operations.
Any other duties as assigned by the welding instructor.



Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required with AWS, CWI, CWE certification or related experience preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years in custom manufacturing and welding experience. CNC Plasma operation preferred.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and team building skills.
Ability to teach others and inspire the group of students.
