As an ideal candidate, you're someone who truly enjoys working with children and wants to make a meaningful difference in their lives and families within our community. Your main focus will be serving children in the Akron area. This position can be part of full time. We will work around your schedule. A day in the life of a School Counselor

As a School Counselor, you deliver high-quality and dynamic therapy across educational settings. You evaluate children across grade bands in order to obtain the information necessary for intervention planning, consultation, and to develop instructional plans that help meet the functional and educational needs of each child served. The children we serve face a variety of developmental, educational, and speech and language challenges they are working to overcome. You use your school counselor expertise to improve the lives of children in ways that are enjoyable and rewarding

What is Required to be a School Counselor at PSI

As someone working in a school environment, we are looking for candidates with experience working with a pediatric population. A Master's degree is required. However, the area of study can be flexible. Successful applicants will have a masters in school counseling or a masters in social work. Position needs vary widely among schools. We find the school that needs YOUR skills.
