Job DescriptionPURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The PT Technician III, Theater performs technical functions at a higher level of complexity. Diagnoses, solves problems, and independently repairs, installs, and builds equipment and systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for woodworking, construction, and painting of sets/props for productions
- Rigs and hangs lights and scenery
- Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work at great heights
- Ability to reach, stand, and stoop
- Ability to follow safety precautions at all times
- Skilled in the use of power tools
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
- Equipment used includes, general carpentry equipment
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
- Work is performed inside and outside with some exposure to power tools and paint fumes
- May require some weekends
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Carpentry experience
- Experience using power tools
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent and at least 1 year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Hourly Pay Rate is $15.24
