Pay

Refrigeration Technicians can make $30.16 - $36.94 / hr, depending on experience (DOE), plus Shift Premium for hours worked in the Weekend Zone Premium (Friday-Sunday)

Schedule

Thursday 8:00am - 8pm 12 hour shift

Friday 6:00am - 4pm 10 hour shift ( Hours will adjust to fit plant shut down times )

Saturday Night, 12 hour shift ( Shift hours will be based on plant startup times )

Clock out for lunch & Other days and hours as needed

Job Summary

A Refrigeration Technician maintains, repairs, overhauls and performs preventive maintenance on all equipment that contains any type refrigerant and on-air compressors used for plant compressed air systems. Also, any fan, intake or exhaust that provides ventilation for any McKee buildings in the Gentry area.

  • Perform routine diagnostics and maintenance on automated building HVAC control system and adjust program changes as necessary
  • Develop preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and make changes as necessary
  • Maintain stock part inventory on assigned equipment
  • Answer concern and complaint calls
  • Assists supervisor as needed (i.e. new employee training, information research, parts inventory, persistent equipment problems, etc)
  • Assist in new equipment selection and installation
  • Report daily via e-mail regarding work performed on shift
  • Willing to take and apply electronic instrumentation programming

Required Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain Forklift, Scissor Lift, Snorkelift & Sky Trak licenses.
  • Strong commitment to and support of McKee Foods values, ethics, goals and objectives
  • Able to remain professional in stressful situations, and willingness to accept responsibility
  • Excellent work, safety, and attendance record
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be customer oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Strong trouble shooting skills
  • Willing to take addition training as necessary
  • Must have own tools
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated electrical/electronic aptitude
  • General Knowledge of HVACR principles and systems
  • Possess or be willing to obtain: CFC Universal certification
  • Ability to easily work with internal and external personnel (serviceman, vendors, sales personnel, etc.)
  • Comply with conditions established by Corporate Risk Management to operate Company vehicles

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years' minimum experience performing service/maintenance on commercial/industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems
  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Experience with MAXIMO and basic computer skills
  • Familiarity with Wonder Ware control systems
  • Certificate of completion of Chattanooga State or equivalent refrigeration and HVAC training course or equivalent experience
  • CFC universal certification
  • Experience working with commercial/industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Working knowledge of process chilling equipment and systems, cooling towers, reciprocating, centrifugal and screw type refrigeration/HVAC equipment and air compressors
