Sr. Scientist

Sr. ScientistAs one of the lead scientists on the team, the Sr. Scientist will conduct benchtop formulation, innovation, plant trials, cost savings, ingredients review, and formulation maintenance. Be a key figure in the lab and as R&D leader at the 2 Ohio plants (this person will travel as required to perform trial runs in the plant).Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Support the product categories manufactured in our plants (dairy, dips, seafood dips and sauces, dessert puddings)Primary responsibilities for this position include the execution of assigned new product development, quality improvement, and cost optimization in the area of dairy, desserts, seafood and other product categories as assignedUse your culinary passion and trends knowledge to design new products from benchtop to plant in our dairy, plant-based or seafood dips and desserts categories. Be able to showcase products at tradeshowsWork in close cooperation with Sales and Marketing to present innovative products to customers and drive customer focused developmentCollaborate with cross-functional departments to commercialize new productsIdentify and lead process and formulation improvements in our Ohio based product categories (dairy, seafood, desserts)Collaborate and provide technical support to customers, Purchasing and Operation teamsWork closely with the Quality Assurance team on production protocols, product shelf-life studies and ingredient qualificationsProvide coaching to junior team membersTechnical Qualifications:BS/MS in Food Science. 8-10 years
experience in the food industry in Research & Development with experience in Dairy, Desserts, Dips.
