Client Summary:
Founded in 1884, our client is an academic medical center whose Centers of Excellence include cardiovascular care from minimally invasive heart surgery to transplantation, cancer care, stroke care, neuroscience, orthopedics and women's and children's care.

Summary of Need:
  • Preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals orally or by injection or inhalation.
  • Explaining the imaging procedure to patients, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort while placing them in the appropriate position for scanning.
  • Operating imaging equipment, such as PET and SPECT scans.
  • Processing images on the brain, thyroid, bone, heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver on the computer.
  • Monitoring patients for unusual reactions to radioactive drugs.
  • Keeping detailed records of the amount and type of radiopharmaceutical used and of the procedure.
  • Producing computer-generated or film images for interpretation by the physicians.
  • Following safety procedures to protect staff and patients from unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Maintaining and examining medical machines and imaging equipment.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of the frequent advances, innovations, and developments in the field.

  • Will float between: Pediatric ICU, ED, and Adult critical care...

  • Types of procedures: Blood gas, vent/BiPAP/High flow initiation and management, Code response, in-house transport, medication administration, Chest PT...
  • Equipment experience: Servo I & U, V60 BiPAP....
  • Charting System: EPIC...
  • NJ License, BLS Required...
  • First time travelers are accepted.....
  • Block/special scheduling cannot be accommodated unless approved at time of booking;
  • All RTO and scheduling requests MUST be included with submission, in the event that the traveler calls out during their assignment they will be required to make up the shift on an alternate day that week. Weekend call outs will result in alternate weekends being scheduled to make up the shift.
