THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Liquor Store Manager 1, you will oversee activities in state-owned Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores. You will supervise a shift, participate in a variety of sales activities including receiving shipments and stocking products, and provide excellent service to all customers in a clean and safe store environment. Throughout operations, you will assign and inspect the work of subordinate employees and provide instruction in the proper application of store policies and procedures. Additionally, you will assist General Managers, with the entire store operation including sales, store maintenance, merchandise and cash accounting, maintenance of records and all related functions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment. Scheduled hours will be equal to 75 hours biweekly.
  • Work hours vary between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm, Sunday - Saturday.
  • Salary: The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum salary listed above and is not negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Liquor Store Clerk 2; or
  • Two years as a Liquor Store Clerk 1 or an Intermittent Liquor Store Clerk; or
  • One year of lead retail sales work.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
