Position Title: Semi-Con Plastics Welder and Fabricator

Department: High Purity

Reports to: High Purity Production Supervisor
Position Summary

The Semi-Con Plastics Welder and Fabricator is responsible for fabricating plastic components and products, utilizing drawings, measurement tools, shop tools, and equipment. This employee will work at an appropriate pace to ensure that quality requirements are met while meeting or exceeding productivity targets, RMB standards, and customer specifications. Overtime is required. The salary range starts at $16/hr, which increases with experience, education, and certification.
Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities

This position includes (but is not limited to) the following essential functions:
Read, interpret, analyze, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures for exact specifications of output to accurately create quality products that meet customer expectations and industry standards
Utilize and operate measurement tools, such as calipers, pie tapes, height gages, and scales to fabricate components and assemblies as needed. Set stops and guides to specified lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
Use proper weld techniques (e.g., hot air and fusion welding), symbols, multiple machine settings, torch and plasma cutters, grinders, and other skills as necessary to perform welding to the highest standards and customer requirements - with the goal of producing strong, clean welds
Mix proper chemicals to create solutions for cleaning the product; hand clean the product if needed
Test output to ensure strength and tolerance of welds; perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
Inspect and measure work to ensure products are within print specifications
Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods; continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times; troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed
Participate in continuous improvement activities, such as PPI teams, lean initiatives, 5S, etc.
Review work to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, safety standards, customer specifications, and RMB standards
Recommend quality and productivity improvements where appropriate to increase customer satisfaction, quality delivery performance, and profitability

Requirements and Qualifications
Be on time and able to work assigned shifts
Must maintain the confidentiality of all projects, customers, and RMB
Possess high level of mathematical skills
Certifications preferred or able to achieve certification: forklift, crane, and welding
Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, schematic diagrams, and shop orders/jobs to determine appropriate setup, production methods, and sequence of operation
Possess the basic computer skills necessary to process work orders, retrieve electronic documents, and document results
Complete work in accordance with the latest codes, standards, and practices of the industry
Fabricate thermoplastic items per the production order and the computer-aided design print associated with the item
Understand and meet quality goals and expectations
Demonstrate proficiency in working with measurement tools, hand tools, and shop equipment
Possess a self-motivated attitude, demonstrating the ability to work consistently and productively under minimal supervision in order to produce strong welds for a quality product
Ability to communicate orally in the English language and in group, face-to-face, and one-to-one settings
Report immediately to supervisor/lead/manager any and all problems, which may affect safety, equipment tooling, and/or quality
Requires a flexible and cooperative attitude, including when asked to perform other duties or tasks that are not listed within this job description but are within the scope of this position
Observe all safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, respirators, etc. as required
Effectively process changes through RMB feedback and reviews
Ability to understand and follow instructions given out orally and in writing by High Purity Supervisor or as specified by customer expectations and requirements

Physical Requirements and Hazards

The employee will be required to:
Stand while working with machinery
Sit during computer work
Perform repetitive movements
Operate a forklift and overhead crane
Lift no more than 50 pounds alone and assist in team lifts of more than 50 pounds
Fulfill the work schedule, work hours, and productivity expectations of their supervisor and RMB
Comply with established standards, policies, and laws applicable to our business
Possess specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus


Hazards:

RMB Products enforces all safety regulations. The employee is expected to follow all safety precautions. While being employed by RMB Products, the employee may be exposed to burns, cuts, and tripping.

The employee may be required to use PPE. Each employee has responsibility for the protection and proper use of company property.

There is a high potential for exposure to hazardous conditions. Proper precautions and safety equipment (including fall equipment) must be used.
