The responsibilities of an LDRP Nurse include caring for laboring mothers, post-partum mothers, and newborns. An LDRP nurse should have a caring, empathetic nature and work well under pressure in a stressful environment. Also, be able to coordinate care with a team of healthcare professionals. Lacatation Nurse Responsibilities: * Provides lactation support and education to patients and families * Interprets changes in family health structure, and assumes responsibility for using available resources for follow through. * Communicates information to parent, significant others, and staff using positive interpersonal relation skills, using appropriate judgment in content and timing. * Coordinates patient discharge planning and referrals. * Identifies barriers to learning and develops and implements individualized teaching plan. * Current and valid Florida RN license. * 1-year OB experience is required. * Current BLS, NRP, * STABLE preferred. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * A professional, positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Flexibility to work shifts and remain on-call for emergency situations.
