Position Summary

PRI is conducting a multidisciplinary review of actions and practices in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City (NYC) undertaken and experienced by all sectors of society. The review will examine how these activities impacted the health and welfare of NYC residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. The review includes four components (literature review, key informant interviews, stakeholder consensus-building discussions, and community dialogues) and will culminate in a report on lessons learned and recommendations for future emergencies.

Reporting to the COVID review manager, the Research Assistant, PRI COVID Review (Student Research Worker) will assist PRI to conduct the review components.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in completion of literature review (i.e., abstract quantitative and qualitative data from literature; analyze and summarize findings) - 25%
  • Assist in conducting qualitative interviews (i.e., serve as notetaker during interviews; obtain informed consent; support analysis and summarizing of findings) - 25%
  • Assist in the design and execution of stakeholder convenings to identify lessons learned and recommendations from the NYC COVID-19 response (e.g., drafting SOPs and discussion tools) - 25%
  • Assist with compiling information and documents and with formatting of data tables in Microsoft Word and Excel - 10%
  • Assist with meeting logistics and administrative activities -10%
  • Perform other duties as assigned - 5%

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage various tasks in a team setting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • A master's degree in public health, public affairs or a related discipline
  • Experience in emergency response and management programs
  • Experience in conducting literature reviews and/or qualitative research
